Colleges and universities from across Ontario and Quebec took part in Enactus competition
Cambrian College competed at its first-ever Enactus Canada regional competition for entrepreneurs recently in Mississauga.
Enactus Canada is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring students to take entrepreneurial action to improve the lives of others.
Cambrian College’s Enactus team was formed in 2022.
Manitoulin Transport has signed on as the presenting sponsor for Cambrian’s Enactus team for the next 10 years.
Twenty-nine teams from colleges and universities in Ontario and Quebec took part in the Central Canada regional competition in such categories as the TD Entrepreneurial Challenge and Desjardins Youth Empowerment Challenge.
Cambrian’s Enactus team pitched its concept of the Northern Ontario Cultural Immersion Program (NOCIP), which would see youth in the Greater Sudbury area learn more about Northern Ontario and Indigenous history through various cultural events.
The NOCIP program is funded through a $3,000 grant provided by the RBC Future Launch Project Accelerator.
“The students had a great experience in their first-ever Enactus competition,” said Jenna Guse, a professor in Cambrian’s School of Business and one of the faculty advisors of the Enactus Cambrian team, in a press release.
“I was very proud of their presentations, and it was fantastic to see the students were inspired and excited after witnessing the presentations of some of the winning teams. We are looking forward to continuing work on the NOCIP.”
